The debut date and cast members are revealed in the My Clueless First Friend anime's first PV.

The My Clueless First Friend (Jijou wo Shiranai Tenkousei ga Guigui Kuru.) television anime's official website aired its first complete promotional video on Thursday, revealing the show's additional cast, staff, and launch.

The anime will make its Japanese television debut in April on channels including TOKYO MX, TV Aichi, BS Fuji, and Animax. The anime will be aired on Crunchyroll as it airs in Japan.

The anime at St.Signpost is being directed by Shigenori Kageyama (DYNAMIC CHORD, Himawari!, Himawari Too!! ), while the character designs are being done by Chikashi Kadekaru (Mieruko-chan, Juni Taisen: Zodiac War). The series scripts are written by Shogo Yasukawa (Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Ayakashi Triangle) and Takafumi Hoshikawa (Shaman King Storyboard, Unit Director), while the music is being composed by Toshio Masuda (Kamisama Kiss, Naruto).

In May 2018, Kawamura debuted the manga in Gangan Joker, a publication from Square Enix. The first volume of the manga's compilation book was released by Square Enix in October 2018, and the fourteenth volume will be released on March 22. The first volume will be released in English by Square Enix Manga & Books on March 7, and the second volume will follow on June 6.

One lonely, gloomy fifth-grade girl is the target of her classmates' relentless bullying and teasing—that is, until a new kid arrives on the scene. Friendly Takada is as clueless as he is well-meaning, but somehow he possesses the magic ability to start drawing "Grim Reaper" Nishimura out of her shell. As the elementary schoolers experience all the fun of a childhood summer together—from going to the pool to picking sunflowers to watching fireworks—an unusual friendship blossoms!
