Kadokawa and Troyca Announce Overtake! original anime about motorsports, directed by Ei Aoki

In a livestreamed event on Friday, Kadokawa and TROYCA revealed the title of their jointly produced original anime, Overtake!

The original work is ascribed to Kadokawa and TROYCA. The animation at TROYCA is being directed by Ei Aoki (Fate/Zero, Aldnoah.Zero, Girls Bravo, Wandering Son), as was previously stated. The series scripts are being overseen by Ayumi Sekine (IDOLiSH7 franchise, Technoroid Overmind). Takako Shimura (Wandering Son, Aldnoah.Zero) created the initial character drawings that Masako Matsumoto is developing for animation. The project is being directed by Katsuhiko Takayama (series composer for Aldnoah.Zero, Two Car).

For Overtake!, an original TV anime that focuses on the world of F4 racing, a teaser trailer and visual have come along with the primary cast and team.

ABOUT

A modest high school student who drives for Komaki Motors in F4. He retorts obstinately, "I don't need any assistance," and he makes a sincere effort to fulfil his goal of taking the stage. He stays at the Komakis' house and works delivering newspapers on the side.

The focus of the anime will be the Formula 4 race (F4). Kya Madoka, a freelance photographer, is experiencing a slump for a specific reason. When he visits Fuji International Speedway to work on an article, he meets Haruka Asahina, a high school F4 racer. He hasn't felt anything in a while, but now his heart is racing. He then begins to assist Haruka and the "Komaki Motors" young squad in order to see Haruka realise his aspirations.
