Due to COVID-19, the anime Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible was postponed after episode 6.
The team of the television adaptation of Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible (Kubo-san wa Mob o Yurusanai) by Nene Yukimori said on Tuesday that all episodes beyond episode 6 will be delayed owing to the impact of COVID-19 on the production schedule. In April, the first episode of the anime will be rebroadcast.
The anime debuted on January 10 at 9:30 p.m. on the AT-X channel. It is also shown on Tokyo MX, BS11, and MBS. The show is being streamed live on HIDIVE.
The anime is being directed by Kazuomi Koga of studio PINE JAM (Do It Yourself!!, Kageki Shoujo!!, Rent-A-Girlfriend both seasons, Rainy Cocoa, Welcome to Rainy Color). The series scripts are being overseen and written by Yya Takahashi (Laughing Under the Clouds, Lupin III: Part IV, Luck & Logic), while the animated characters are being designed by Yoshiko Sait (Comic Girls).
The opening theme song, "Dramatic Janakutemo" (Even Though it's Not Dramatic), is being performed by Kana Hanazawa. The "Kasuka de Tashika" closing theme song is being performed by Dialogue+.
The English-language manga is being published digitally and in print by Viz Media. The manga is also available digitally in English through Shueisha's MANGA Plus service, which summarises the plot as follows:
First year high schooler Junta Shiraishi is a mob character who goes unnoticed even when he's standing right next to you. But his classmate, "heroine-level beauty" Kubo, always notices him and is there to tease him. Anyone can become special to someone, but it might be a little too early to call these feelings "love." Perhaps this story is still two-steps from being a romantic comedy--let's call it a sweet comedy where a background character becomes visible!
In October 2019, Yukimori debuted the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump publication. The Shonen Jump+ website and app also host the manga. On December 19, Shueisha released the manga's eleventh volume.
